This site is dedicated to the memory of Kathleen Clarke.

Kathleen Clarke who died at the age of 87 on 24th July 2010 was a devoted wife to Gerald my late father, a loving mother to Christine and Martin, affectionate grandmother to Alice, Laurence and Emma and a caring sister to Jeanne her late sister and her brothers Kenneth and Leonard. Mum loved the sea, was married at Port Isaac and always supported the RNLI. She had many special memories of visiting her parents in their retirement at Exmouth. During the 2nd World War Mum was a plotter at Biggin Hill and after the war she worked for over twenty years as a 'dinner lady' at Hayes Primary School in Kent. When her parents were in their 'very old age' Mum and Jeanne cared for them in their home at Chapel St. Leonards. Mum was an exceptionally good cook and I remember her lemon sponge, lemon meringue pie and honeycomb in particular. Visitors were always made welcome with a feast of home made fayre. For the trips down to Exmouth by train in the 1950s she would prepare little jars with all kinds of home made food. In her laters years Mum was quite frail but always liked to receive a RNLI card. Instead of flowers Mum's family would like donations for the 'Forever by the Sea fund'. Christine Chittock (Daughter)
